Finding Narnia
Finding Narnia is a 36 x 48 x 1.5” acrylic painting on wood panel, created entirely en plein air at Point Lobos State Natural Reserve for the 2026 Carmel Plein Air Painting Competition. Painted from the breathtaking bluffs overlooking China Cove, this piece captures the wonder and enchantment of a truly surreal day immersed in nature. After hiking my easel and supplies to the site, I painted surrounded by a mother seal and her pup below, baby bunnies nestled among the wildflowers, and butterflies drifting through the coastal air. Finding Narnia reflects the magic, light, and sense of discovery found in one of California’s most extraordinary landscapes.
